The Learning Curve: Scale Mapping

Elliot Branson Is the Director of Machine Learning and Engineering at Scale and leads the Machine Learning, Platform, Federal, 3D, and Mapping products. In his prior work, he helped create the Cruise Automation self-driving car and served as the first Head of Perception and AI. His interest in robotics and AI started with national and international robotics competitions in high school and continued in college and grad school where he published work on field robotics, localization, computer vision, and AI systems. His previous work includes stints on the Google Project Tango AR platform and Air Force MURI research programs.

Mariya (Mar) Jacobo is a Product Manager at Scale AI, where she leads the Mapping and Design teams. Prior to Scale AI, Mar was the Product Lead at Luminar Technologies and Head of Product at Cruise Automation where she set product strategy and led teams to build innovative user experiences.

Steven Hao is a Software Engineer at Scale AI where he leads the technical development of Mapping. An early employee of the company, Steven has worked across multiple products including Scale 3D Sensor Fusion, Scale Image and Scale Video. Prior to Scale AI, Steven studied combinatorics and algorithms, and was a top competitor in international programming contests such as the IOI and ICPC.
