About the Tech Talk
Foundation Models offer a new paradigm for machine learning. As OEMs transition from intense R&D to scaled production for advanced self-driving systems, Foundation Models will be the key to achieving safety and efficiency. Scale's Automotive Foundation Model is the next evolution of the Automotive Data Engine -- empowering teams to deliver advanced computer vision capabilities for autonomous vehicles to safely perceive and navigate complex environments. In this talk, Sean Hendryx, Engineering Manager, Machine Learning at Scale AI, will share how Scale is delivering the most advanced computer vision technology to accelerate the development of autonomous vehicles.
About Sean Hendryx
Sean Hendryx leads capability research and applied ML for vision and language applications at Scale AI, managing both the computer vision and generative AI machine learning teams. He was previously a machine learning tech lead at Standard AI, an autonomous checkout company, where he built large scale training stacks and realtime video inference systems. Before that he was the first engineer at Explorer.ai, an autonomous vehicle mapping company later acquired by Standard. He holds two master of science degrees majoring in machine learning and remote sensing from the University of Arizona and has published papers on meta-learning for image segmentation, federated learning, natural language processing, and remote sensing. Sean is currently focused on advancing foundation models by efficiently integrating human in the loop.
