Focus on Simplicity: Building a Resilient, Scalable Org with Zoom CTO Brendan Ittelson

Brendan leads technology strategy and innovation at Zoom. Charged with creating and executing Zoom’s technical vision, he applies an extensive background in technology and security to designing scalable, user-friendly video-first solutions. Brendan joined Zoom in 2015 to lead Zoom’s global customer support before transitioning to CTO in 2020. Prior to Zoom, Brendan worked at a FinTech startup, Dynamics Inc., where he served as VP of Special Operations. In that role, he used his business and technology background to help revolutionize payments without disrupting the way payment systems work. Earlier in his career, Brendan worked as a Department of Defense civilian employee in the federal sector; creating, implementing, and supporting various global identity management systems. Brendan holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Oregon and a certificate in Identity Management from the Naval Postgraduate School.

Jaclyn spent the majority of her career at Google partnering with enterprise companies and incubating new products. She was a founding member of the growth team at CapitalG, Alphabet’s growth equity firm, where she advised growth-stage tech companies like Airbnb and Stripe on scaling their technical infrastructure, data security, and leveraging machine learning for growth. In 2019, Jackie and Noah Gale founded Tribe AI to make AI more accessible to companies of all sizes and industries, while also building a new type of career path for top technical talent that emphasizes specialization and freedom.
